TOURISM
It owes its name to the "capitouls" -public magistrates - who governed the city of Toulouse. The Town Hall, which was completed in 1759, has a magnificent 128 m long facade. Inside, it is decorated with frescos, busts and works of history from painters of the 19C. The Duke of Montmorency, governor of the Languedoc, was executed in this courtyard in 1632, under the orders of Louis XIII, for rebelling against the king.
