Founded in 1593, the garden has temperate and tropical greenhouses and contains a variety of Mediterranean trees (nettle trees, green oaks etc.). In the southern part, 3 000 species of plants grow in the botanical garden which illustrates the “systematic school” of Candolle, devoted to the study of plant classification.
