A group of red-ochre Turin-style buildings with arcades surrounds a fountain with bronze horses in its basin. Avenue Jean-Médecin and its department stores lead off the north side of the square, while to the south there’s a view over the coach station and the Musée d’Art Moderne towards the hills. To the west is the district that the English called Newborough.
