Travel guide Bayonne
Bayonne
: The Michelin guide review
Bayonne is all about atmosphere, especially at the bars and bodegas in ‘‘Petit Bayonne’’, a neighbourhood full of young people that comes alive at night and where you can get a real taste of Basque hospitality. The traditional festivals in August are the highpoint of the year. Bayonne also has a rich history, illustrated by its tall houses with oxblood red half-timbering in the old town, divided into three areas around the Nive and Adour rivers: Petit Bayonne, Grand Bayonne and the Saint-Esprit Quarter. The city is also the cradle of chocolate production in France.
