This soberly designed building is home to one of France’s most prestigious museums, which houses exhibits from centuries past as well as modern art. The French and Spanish schools are well represented, with works by Philippe de Champaigne and canvases by Zurbarán. Along with compositions by Ingres and Corot, the 19C is highlighted by works by Grenoble artists such as Fantin-Latour. The modern section covers Cubism, Dadaism, Abstraction, as well as contemporary works by Dubuffet, Buren, Donald Judd etc. The Tour de l'Isle, a remnant of the medieval ramparts, hosts temporary exhibitions.

Sehr gute Ausstellungen, sehr interessant und zudem auch noch von der Architektur auf alter Stadtmauer sehr spannend.
