The vast thermal bath area shows the high level of technology attained in the 3C: the Magistrate’s Baths feature latrines, a frigidarium and a hypocaust. Next to them are the East Baths, which the public used and are more modest in decor but similarly equipped. Decumanus II joins a north-south street leading to the former Villa des Arènes (now the Musée Matisse). To the left, the West Baths were for women only. They were later turned into an Early Christian baptistery, then a cathedral.
