Îles d'Hyères
Îles d'Hyères
: The Michelin guide review
The short crossing and walks around these well-preserved islands are bound to be a highlight of any trip to the Côte d’Azur. Inhabited in turn by monks, pirates and garrisons, the three Hyères Islands are each different but all idyllic: Le Levant is stony, Port-Cros is the most mountainous and Porquerolles is the largest and best for swimming. You might find you have a weakness for Port-Cros, after which the national park was named, or Porquerolles, for its fabulous walks.

Pros
