These alpine pastures were formerly the grazing site of herds of Hérens cows. The remains of this pastoral past can still be seen in the shape of the shepherds' chalets lined up in perfect order in the valleys of the Col de la Balme. The site is ideal for gentle walks and delightful picnics overlooking the Mont Blanc range.
