Travel guide Arbois
Arbois
: The Michelin guide review
Arbois, where Louis Pasteur grew up, occupies a wonderful site at the entrance to a magnificent steephead valley. Just as Saint-Just church bell tower stands proudly above the vineyards, the town flies the flag for Jura wines. There are numerous winegrower’s houses, recognisable by their ground-level trap doors for barrel access, and wine cellars that are very popular with enthusiasts. Be sure to visit the Pasteur family house with the laboratory where the famous scientist worked when in Arbois.
