Travel guide Plouharnel
Plouharnel : The Michelin guide review
In a strategic position on Quiberon Bay, this town retains old houses and a fine 16C chapel, Notre Dame des Fleurs. Visit the Plouharnel galleon (collection of shells and shell pictures), and the Chouan revolt museum. Out of town is the abbey of Ste Anne de Kergonan, founded as a daughter house of Solesmes in 1897, home to a Benedictine community dividing its time between prayer and ceramic manufacture. St Michel de Keronan belongs to the same order but is an enclosed house.

Restaurants Plouharnel
-
Behind its granite walls, this restaurant taken over by a young couple in 2010 offers a variety of meat and fish dishes. Lovely flavours and carefully decorated dining room.
-
Three cheers for La Chaumine! Back in business after its 2010 refit, this establishment with its maritime feel (carved gulls, ship's hull) serves light seafood dishes.
-
Enjoy tasty, fresh and unpretentious cuisine prepared in this restaurant run by two brothers. It has the resolutely lounge-style atmosphere of the Grand Théâtre.
-
Not far from the port, the dining room is characterised by simple minimalist design and a certain intimacy. The well-prepared food takes its inspiration from the sea (fresh cod with aioli, Clementine tartlets).
-
Sardine and onion tart; slow-cooked and glazed pork belly - the rich and lively pride of Brittany is cultivated in this restaurant. It has a well-presented decor dominated by driftwood and soft colours.
-
Restaurant facing the sea serving seafood cuisine (of course!). Guests' toes are almost lapped by the water while the chef employs extremely fresh fish and seafood (and other) ingredients. The children's menu is a delight for mini-gourmets.
