Basilica of N.-D. of Roncier : The Michelin guide review

The name of this basilica comes from a tradition of the year 800. A peasant, whilst cutting the brambles in his field, discovered a statue of the Virgin, this is why it is called Our Lady of the Bramble. The church jubilee was formerly called «jubilee of the aboyeuses» because in 1728, some children were healed from this kind of epilepsy. Notice on the outside the gargoyles, the statue of the Virgin and, inside, the 15C marble mausoleum of Olivier de Clisson and his wife Marguerite de Rohan.
