On the border of the Haute-Loire and the Cantal regions, the small commune of Ally, which once lived off agriculture and mining, is now a tourist destination, where you can follow in the footsteps of 19C miners’ in the Mine de la Rodde (antimony and silver-bearing lead). The “Circuit des Moulins” tourist route is a testimony to the importance of windpower in the area. The Ally Mercoeur wind farm now generates enough electricity for 50 000 people.
