TOURISM
Rising to an altitude of 1 753m, the volcanic Mézenc peak has a variety of landscapes: an immense barren plateau on the Velay side, and more dramatic relief plunging down to the Rhône on the Vivarois side. Famed for its basalt flows such as the Ray-Pic waterfalls and the “Giant's Causeway” at Thueyts, it is graced with superb flora which will be of great interest to botanists. Walk up to the summit to take advantage of the vast panoramic view, enjoying some remarkable vistas along the way.
