Rue des Chaussetiers : The Michelin guide review

The vaulted ground floors of the old houses in this street became a meeting point for furniture and carpet merchants. At nº 3, cast a glance at the courtyard in the House of Savaron (1513); the staircase turret, linked to the main building by three levels of suspended walkways, is entered by means of a beautiful carved door, known as “the wild men’s door”. At the corner of rue de Petits Gras, the 12C arcades are the oldest examples of Romanesque civic architecture in Clermont.
