It consisted of two areas: the Cité (aristocratic and ecclesiastical) and the Bourg (bourgeois and commercial). You will see a series of dwellings with typical Troyan architecture: more than one story half-timbered houses with corbelled structures which surmount pointed gables; in the richer dwellings, the Champenois style can be appreciated, chequered bricks and chalk cobble stone; the mansions are built of stone, a rare, thus expensive, material in that region.
