Place Broglie : The Michelin guide review

Marshal de Broglie, governor of Alsace, opened up this long rectangular space and planted it with trees (18C). The rear end features a municipal theatre decorated with columns and muses chiselled by the gifted Ohmacht. On the embankment to the right rises the majestic facade of the prefect's residence (1736), previously the Klinglin Hotel, and the town hall, previously owned by the Hanau-Lichtenberg counts and, later on, the Hesse-Dramstadt landowners.
