Place Royale : The Michelin guide review

Laid out in 1760 following the plans of Legendre, this is typical of the Louis XVI era with an arcade and balustraded roofs. On the south side the old Fermes house houses the sub Prefecture. The statue of Louis XV by Pigalle did not survive the Revolution. What you see today was placed there during the Restoration by Cartellier. The pedestal is the same and on it you can seePigalle sitting on bundles of material under the protection of the King dressed as Roman.
