In this Renaissance house built between 1545 and 1556 saint Jean-Baptiste de La Salle was born in 1651A facade dotted with pilasters which are Doric at the bottom but Ionic further up is flanked by a entry pavilion with a coaching door depicting Adam and Eve. Jean-Baptiste de la Salle would have had a brilliant ecclesiastical career but he decided to devote himself to the education of the poor. His brotherhood of the Frères des Ecoles Chrétiennes is now known world-wide.
