Travel guide Lunéville
Lunéville
: The Michelin guide review
Duke Léopold of Lorraine loved to stay in Lunéville and admired the Sun King. He had his own little Versailles built here and attracted to it all the nobility of Lorraine. Later King Stanislas embellished the château where he held court for the leading figures of the age. So it was in the 18C that Lunéville knew times of great prosperity, all the more so because of its Royal pottery factory. The modern-day appearance of the city retains vestiges of this glorious past.

Le Prieuré doesn't look like much from the outside and the garden is a touch monastic but the interior is elegant with traditional Lorraine furniture, pewter ware and a fireplace in the lounges. The classic cuisine follows the seasons.

Le Relais Vosgien

Scallops, Rossini steak, duck breasts with mirabelle plums, sweetbreads and so on. The menu is classic but the slightly offbeat decor is anything but dull (gilt chairs and colourful paintings).

Version A is the 'contemporary version' of the second restaurant at the Château d'Adoménil. The dishes on the menu may be simpler but they are well prepared. Try the crab fishcakes, salmon gravlax or Peking-style piglet. This place confounds expectat..

Hikers on the GR5 trail appreciate this 18C convent, but they don't come to do penance, rather to do justice to the delicious food. The chef adores working with regional produce (Mirabelle plums, Hampont perch, etc) and the portions are satisfyingly ..
