Point Pelee National Park Worth a detour

Situated on a pointed peninsula extending into Lake Erie, this park is one of the few places where the true deciduous forest of eastern North America still exists. Well known to ornithologists across the continent, the southernmost tip of the Canadian mainland possesses a unique plant and animal life, largely due to its latitude of 42°N, the same as that of Rome.
