Gastein Valley : The Michelin guide review

The long and broad Gastein Valley is one of Austria’s most attractive resort locations. Covering three communes (Dorfgastein at 830 m, Bad Hofgastein at 860 m and Badgastein at 1 000 m), it developed into a major spa centre from the 15C. In a fine setting surrounded by medium to high mountains, it also offers superb winter skiing (one of Austria’s leading ski resorts after the Arlberg), and draws walkers in summer.
