The winter palace of the prince who defeated the Turks several times between 1697 and 1716 today houses the Finance Ministry. The cramped “sky doorway” slightly mars the overall perspective of the palace’s long façade… but this should not dissuade visitors from entering to admire the inner courtyard, fountain and staircase, a classic example of the Baroque style.
