Although Maria am Gestade, Our Lady of the Waterside (or of the Steps as it is commonly called) was built in the middle of the 12C, its high, narrow flamboyant façade and fine, openwork steeple are in Gothic style, dating from the late Middle Ages (14 and 15C). The stained-glass windows in the chancel and the statues are from the same period. It is now the Czech national church in Vienna.
