A treasury is recorded here in the 14C. In 1747, Maria Teresa located it in this part of the palace, where it subsequently grew to acommodate an increasing collection. The imperial treasure includes mementoes, sacred and personal Habsburg relics. The temporal treasure reflects imperial life, Rudolf II’s crown, Roger II of Sicily’s coronation robes, the imperial crown (962), the Holy Lance which pierced Christ’s flank. Finally, the sacred treasure has liturgical objects used at court and in the chapel here.
