Glancing at the discreet façade of the Kapuzinerkirche, the Church of the Capuchins on Neuer Markt, you would not think that the embalmed bodies of 138 members of the Imperial family of the Habsburgs are buried here, including 12 emperors and 17 empresses. A visit to the coffins placed in nine vaults is a dignified, respectful process. The finest of the sarcophagi is the tomb of Maria Theresa and François of Lorraine and the most moving is Sissi's tomb, permanently adorned with flowers.
