Burgtheater : The Michelin guide review

The Court Theatre was founded by Maria Theresa in 1741 and became a veritable national theatre, the Burgtheater, in the reign of Josef II and has been one of Vienna's great cultural institutions ever since. In 1888, it moved into the current building in late neo-Renaissance style blended with neo-Baroque elements. The façade and two main staircases are of monumental proportions. Gustav Klimt painted some of the frescoes on the staircase ceilings.
