The neo-Renaissance façade of the Academy of Fine Arts stands slightly back from the ring on the Schillerplatz. This little-known museum, with its succession of unattractive rooms, contains some veritable masterpieces. The Renaissance period is particularly well represented. The extraordinary Triptych of the Last Judgment by Hieronymus Bosch (1504-1508) should not be missed. There is also an excellent collection of 18C Venetian and Austrian paintings.
