Column St Anne : The Michelin guide review

The all-white St. Anne Column that stands in the middle of the Maria-Theresien-Strasse, is one of the Tyrol's symbols. It was erected in 1706 and recalls the successful defence of Innsbruck against Bavarian and French troops in 1703, on St. Anne's Day. Her daughter, the Virgin Mary, watches from the top of the monument, and from its base, accompanied by St. George, the Tyrol's protector, as well as Vigilius and Cassianus, patron saints of the dioceses ofTrente and Bressanone, in Italy.
